My name is Fanar. I am 22 years old and I am a member of the board. I was born in Iraq and 9 year-old I became a refugee to Denmark with my family. I am studying to become a builder.
I lived with my family in several different refugee centers for many years. When you are there, the only thing on your mind is the right to get granted asylum. Or rather, how to get the Danes to understand that you will be killed if they send you back to Iraq.
We were granted asylum at 2008 after seven years with denial. I’m a member of My Asylum because I want to do something for people living under hard conditions. I think it’s great that we can help the expelled young people. I know that they are having a really hard time and they deserve to get a chance for a better life.
